I could have told anyone (and did) from the age of seven that I intended to study music, and was fortunate enough to be able to do so twice; first as an undergraduate, gaining an honours degree from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, and later as a postgraduate -again at Newcastle – gaining a Postgraduate Diploma in Musical Composition.

Writing has always been central to my musical activities and my first joy. Influences are wide and varied, from Renaissance liturgical music, 20th century modern classical music to Rock and Blues. Elements of all these and more could possibly be found in my own output.
